Meet Sara

At Fetzer, I serve as a strategist and innovator for inspiring, revealing, and serving the emergence of a movement toward personal and societal transformation grounded in love.

Before coming to Fetzer, I was a faith-based activist with the United Church of Christ; an overseas economic justice volunteer; an entrepreneur and consultant across the corporate, startup, and nonprofit sectors; and founding editorial director of Upworthy.com—named the fastest growing media site of all-time in 2013 by Fast Company with a mission of “changing what the world pays attention to.” I hold a master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and am currently working on a Master’s of Divinity degree, seeking ordination in the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

I love to travel to international spiritual pilgrimage sites; spend a good deal of time reading; and enjoy swimming, kayaking, and cycling in sunny Southern California. In my free time I volunteer with my tiny, contemplative, mountainside church, which runs a free legal clinic for our migrant neighbors and a community garden.
