"See how very much your Father loves you, for he calls you his little girl, and that is what you are!"
I John 3:1
Join a small group of like-hearted women as you get away from the busyness of life and into our Abba's arms.
This will be a "mostly silent" retreat where you will have lots of time for you and God alone, to read, rest, walk, pray, journal, and worship while also enjoying opening and closing times of prayer and sharing together. Opportunity for spiritual companioning to share and pray together with a member of our First Love team during your retreat will also be available.
About the Facilitator
Lori Melton began retreating almost 20 years ago, uncovering the difference that time alone with God makes in a person’s life. A lifelong facilitator and spiritual director, her passion is to create space for others to experience the beauty and blessing of their Creator.

What to bring: Food for your own meals -- each cabin is fully equipped with a full kitchen. Bedding and linens are provided as well. Let the Spirit guide you, keeping things as simple as possible. Try to get away from "productivity" mindset of how much you can "get done" (We can do this even in our spiritual lives!) Start with Bible, journal, outdoor gear for walking the trails/spending time outdoors, insulated coffee mug for taking outside with you -- and, most importantly, your full heart!
What to leave behind: anything that might distract you from the silence and simplicity of God's spirit – cell phone, laptops, projects (even spiritual ones!).
Gilchrist is spread out over 63 acres of meadow, woods, trails with individual modern cabins, each fully equipped with living rooms, bed, full bathrooms, kitchen and screened porches or decks. Equipped with everything necessary for a solitary retreat except food and toiletries. A delightful small stone chapel is open for meditation and prayer as well as WindHill, the central meeting house.
