Our Memorial Trust

Celebrating the 25th year of our retreat center, Seasons, and sunsetting the John E. Fetzer Memorial Trust offers us the occasion to reflect on our roots and to honor the many people who have helped guide our organization and community. This page is dedicated to the many trustees who have urged us to work from a place of inquiry and to access Spirit as we strive to meet our organizations guiding purpose.... To these individuals, we offer the deepest thanks from our community, past, present, and future.

Angie Arrien

Angie Arrien (1940-2014), cultural anthropologist, educator, author, lecturer and consultant, whose small stature belied her mighty spirit and intellect. We thank you for your service as a Fetzer Institute trustee and for sharing the gift of the fourfold way with our community. From her TED Talk: The four great mysteries that every culture ritualizes: birth, initiatory processes, committed love, death. Death and Birth hold the ends of the luminous pause that is called our life’s journey which contains a call, repeated instances of the archetypal cycle: the search, the struggle, the breakthrough, the return.
