Shared Sacred Worldview Collaborative

Uniting Sacred Wisdom to Heal and Uplift Our World

At the Fetzer Institute, we believe that behind every flourishing society is a deeper sense of the Sacred — a shared spiritual understanding that transcends difference and guides us toward healing, connection, and compassion. The Shared Sacred Worldview Collaborative is our invitation to faith and spiritual leaders, interreligious organizations, and global changemakers to help co-create that understanding and bring it to life in the world.

This collaborative explores how sacred-rooted beliefs and values can become a foundation for shared flourishing — not through dogma, but through shared stories, practices, and partnerships that advance human dignity and belonging.

A Global Invitation to Shared Sacred Flourishing
Launched in partnership with Religions for Peace, this collaborative supports faith-based and interfaith organizations in reimagining how the Sacred can animate systemic change. Through assemblies, accompaniment, and cross-sector spiritual sharing, this work seeks to strengthen the moral and spiritual fabric of communities across the globe.

As part of this collaboration, Fetzer has supported a growing body of spiritual leaders and scholars working to name and nurture a Shared Sacred Worldview for a Shared Sacred Flourishing  — a vision that recognizes the divine in all people and the planet, and works to align our institutions with that truth.

Retelling Sacred Stories: Our Journeys to a Shared Sacred Story
Over the course of five years, nine teams of scholars and spiritual leaders were tasked with faithfully retelling their tradition’s story as an “invitation” to readers of all backgrounds to “taste” each tradition’s experience of the Sacred and how it can foster shared flourishing.

Published in 2024, this collection brings together voices from diverse faith traditions to reflect on how the Sacred shows up in daily life — and how shared spiritual narratives can transform our collective future. The volume includes an effort to present a “shared sacred story” that respects each religion’s integrity and advocates for a new philosophy of science open to the Sacred.
