Technology permeates almost every facet of our lives today, including how we practice religion and spirituality.
The popularity of virtual meditation groups, mindfulness apps, religious services on social media, and other digital sacred spaces for shared experiences is a testament to how technology is a powerful tool for connection today.
As we navigate this evolving landscape, cultivating awareness becomes essential. This includes striking a balance as we embrace technology’s potential to enhance our spiritual practices while remaining grounded in our inner selves. By intentionally integrating these tools, we can create harmony. It enriches our understanding of spirituality and deepens our connections to ourselves and others.
A 2023 study by the Pew Research Center found that 18% of U.S. adults use apps or websites to remind them to meditate and be grateful. About one in ten U.S. adults occasionally post prayer requests online. Not surprisingly, more (42%) say they see other people’s prayer requests online. In addition, 9% say they see these types of posts daily.
Considering the intersection of technology and your spiritual practices, how can you harness digital tools to deepen your connections with yourself and others while maintaining a sense of inner peace and authenticity?
