The Fetzer Institute has four organizational values that we live into

Love.

Love is our foundational value, as John Fetzer believed: ‘We simply must have love as an institution; without it, our efforts will fail.

Trust.

We seek to live and work together in relationships of trust, which is the building block for authenticity.

Authenticity.

Authentic expression is core to our culture, fostering belonging and building a spiritual foundation for a loving world.

Belonging.

Belonging, rooted in historic faith traditions, is our birthright and key to achieving true human flourishing.

In the decades since our founding, the Fetzer Institute has distinguished itself as a primary funder and a thought leader in the philanthropic space. We are a catalyst of new ideas that bring together spirituality and science to create spiritual solutions and promote shared flourishing.

In the 1990s, we were a driving force behind the development of the field of mind-body health. After 9/11, we fostered an awareness of the power of Love and Forgiveness. We helped the World Health Organization integrate spirituality into its quality-of-life measures. A quarter into the 21st century, we continue to invest in shining a light on the Sacred and developing spiritual solutions for shared flourishing.
