Dear Friends,

Look around you. The world is in turmoil.

Despite all our progress and innovation, many of the same challenges persist. Poverty, pollution, fractured families, loneliness, and political division. We continue to seek answers through policy reform, personal responsibility, and education, yet the outcomes often fall short.

At the Fetzer Institute, we believe something vital is missing: the Sacred. When we view the world only through the lens of secular and scientific reasoning, we risk losing sight of the deeper truths that connect us. But what if we reclaimed the spiritual as a core part of how we see (and solve) today’s problems?

You’ve heard it said that “seeing is believing.” At Fetzer, we believe the opposite is just as powerful: believing is seeing.

Believing the world is Sacred allows us to see differently. We’re able to approach the Earth not with greed, but with generosity. To view others not with suspicion, but with compassion. It allows us to reframe both our diagnoses and our solutions.

This is our work. We are investing in networks and coalitions that apply spiritual solutions to social problems. We’re supporting efforts that reconnect people with their deeper selves, with one another, and with the Sacred. We believe that only by doing so can we begin to achieve shared flourishing.

It starts, as many Sacred things do, with a breath.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.

Warmly,

Bob Boisture
