Background

UNDIVIDED is a faith-based movement committed to racial healing and justice through transformative conversations and spiritual reflection. Rooted in Christian values, UNDIVIDED brings together diverse groups of people for courageous dialogues on race, helping participants build empathy, take meaningful action, and create lasting change in their communities.

Through its groundbreaking programs, UNDIVIDED empowers faith leaders and communities to lead the way in racial reconciliation.

Initiative Overview

Founded by pastors Chuck Mingo and Troy Jackson, UNDIVIDED started as a congregational initiative and quickly grew into a national movement. We offer experiential programs that guide participants through life-changing conversations about race, helping them bridge divides and cultivate unity. Our programs focus not on political affiliation but on Christian values of love, justice, and equality, empowering communities to pursue racial justice with faith and courage.

Impact

Since 2016, UNDIVIDED has reached 10,000 participants across 27 churches and 25 organizations in 17 states, transforming communities through its seven-week experiential learning cohorts.

Graduates of UNDIVIDED programs have led successful campaigns to register voters, fund public education, and reform the criminal justice system.

Research from Johns Hopkins University has shown that UNDIVIDED participants experience increased empathy, belonging, and a stronger belief that they can make a difference in their communities.

We’ve trained over 100 pastors and ministry leaders, equipping them with the tools and courage to lead conversations on race and justice.

Conclusion

How Spirituality Makes Our Work Different:

UNDIVIDED is deeply rooted in Christian teachings about love, justice, and community. By focusing on Biblical principles, we help participants see that conversations about race are not only necessary but spiritually essential. We hold space for grace-filled dialogues where people can be vulnerable, wrestle with difficult truths, and grow together in faith. Our work leads to tangible action because, as the Bible teaches, love for our neighbor compels us to advocate for justice and equity in our communities.
