Fetzer Advisory Council on Sport and Embodied Spiritual Practice

We appreciate the value of sport and embodied spiritual practice as deep human experiences that transcend the traditional notion of a simple “game.”  We also embrace the responsibility that goes along with the global platform afforded to sport--a platform on which to raise awareness of the power, possibilities, and goodness of the human spirit.

The principles of fair play and good sportsmanship are often shorthand for much deeper emotions, and the Fetzer Advisory Council on Sport and Embodied Spiritual Practice is working to find examples when spirited competition is interlaced with love and forgiveness among the participants, even on opposite sides of the contest.

The Fetzer Advisory Council on Sport and Embodied Spiritual Practice is one of 16 councils seeking to foster a greater awareness of how love and forgiveness are essential to their sectors.
