Nobel Peace Laureates: Rigoberta Menchu Tum on Religious Diversity
Nobel Laureate Rigoberta Menchu Tum shares her own religious background and describes the differences in faith that we all have. Menchu Tum believes that growing up with parents who believed in different traditions gave her a much broader viewpoint and the ability to respect everybody's religious diversity.
The Fetzer Institute spent time with Nobel Laureate Rigoberta Menchu Tum in the summer of 2008 at the Peace Jam conference in Los Angeles. Menchu Tum was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992 in recognition of her work for social justice and ethno-cultural reconciliation based on respect for the rights of indigenous peoples.
